We can easily be tricked into thinking there is one right way to be a Catholic family.  One perfect set of resources…one way to pray, serve, and give of your time and talents.

I believe nothing could be further from the truth!

While we all share a universal call to holiness, we are each given individual gifts and talents that will help us fulfill the individual call God has placed on our lives.  But here’s the catch- you won’t ever find that call looking at what everyone else is doing.

Trying to be just like that Catholic family down across the aisle on Sunday morning.

God didn’t call you to craft your family into their image, but into his image!

God wants your family to become fully what it was meant to be so that it may share in his mission of love to the world.

But it’s difficult to do that if we leave our family path to chance, constantly reacting to circumstances rather than having a plan and a direction in mind. The obvious direction is towards God’s path—but what does that mean for us right here and now?

MISSION: FAMILY will help you answer that question by exploring your family’s identity, vision, mission, and rule of life. Each of the six chapters includes a brief introduction to the topic, a few questions for reflection and discussion (with plenty of writing space for recording your insights and decisions), and a menu of family activities to get everyone in the family engaged and excited about your plan.

This has been one of my longest running projects, beginning over five years ago while working on my Master’s Degree in Instructional Design.  I posited then- and affirm now- that parents are both interested in and capable of being the primary educators of their children but are often unsure where to start.

Why not start a new decade by comitting to a discover the unique identity and direction that God has given your family?

MISSION: FAMILY is now available to help you on that path!

Available in print and digital format, this workbook sized journal allows families to work through each mission together.  Families with children of all ages will benefit from the relationship building and vision forming work.  Parents work alongside their children as they are empowered to set goals and make prudent choices.
